The high-quality Villa Alegres is a very spacious property in a beautiful location. Here you are in a modern house in the middle of nature, surrounded by oranges, figs and pomegranates, far away from mass tourism. The property offers plenty of privacy and is ideal for a large family or several couples looking for a relaxing holiday.
The spacious living/dining room and modern, fully equipped kitchen with a large dining table and cosy breakfast bar can accommodate up to 8 people. For those who want to get out of the way, there is plenty of space on the gallery. There is a large TV in the living room and on cooler evenings a fire in the newly renovated fireplace creates a cosy atmosphere.
Each of the 4 bedrooms is air conditioned and has an en-suite bathroom with a large shower, hairdryer, and make-up mirror. There is an additional bath in one of the bathrooms. All windows are fitted with electric shutters and mosquito nets.
Due to the long hours of sunshine in the Algarve, most of the time is spent outdoors. The spacious covered terrace is easily accessible from the ground floor of the house and provides a perfect seating and dining area overlooking the pool. There is also a brick charcoal barbecue for free use.
The pool area is also easily accessible from the terrace and the large pool (5x10m) is surrounded by a glass covered railing, making it safer for young children. There is an outdoor shower and a seating area with a large table and brick benches. Plenty of comfortable sun loungers are provided.
The beautiful garden with many olive trees, grapes, pomegranates, and figs (you are welcome to nibble!) invites you to linger and offers plenty of space for children to play.
On the roof terrace you can enjoy the sunrise while having breakfast, there you also find a seating area with dining table. In the evenings, this is the perfect place to enjoy an aperitif as the sun sets over the Ria Formosa.
Parking is easy with a shaded carport and additional parking within the fenced property. Groceries can be taken directly from the car to the kitchen. The whole complex is virtually stairless, except for the gallery and the roof terrace.

Location
The villa is set in beautiful countryside on the outskirts of Fuseta. The property is quiet but not far from the N125, making it easy to get to Tavira (the pearl of the Algarve), Faro, Olhão or Moncarapacho.
Fuseta is attached to Ria Formosa Nature Reserve, between Faro and Spanish border, where the landscape is still unspoilt and natural. Fuseta is a typical Portuguese fishing village with traditional restaurants, a small fishing port and a great beach bar right on the Praia da Fuseta. The beautiful promenade with small pubs and the pedestrian area are popular with locals and tourists. For your daily shopping there is a market hall, shops, and a bakery. The centre of Fuseta is only a 3-minute drive (2km) from Villa Alegres.
Those who have read the book "Lost in Fuseta" by Gil Ribeiro will recognize the atmosphere of the place and the people. Regardless, all guests enjoy the gracious friendliness with which the locals treat everyone.
The holiday home is also only 2.5 km from the nearest beach, Praia da Fuseta. A ferry takes you to the sandbank off the mainland (about €2 return, children half price), from where you can quickly reach other miles of lonely beaches and the open Atlantic Ocean.
The Quinta da Ria golf course is only a short drive away, and there are also many other superb Golf courses in the region.
Environment / Sustainability
The owners attach great importance to the conservation of resources and have carried out extensive renovations in 2022/2023 to make the house almost completely carbon neutral. More than 90% of the house's electricity is now generated in an environmentally friendly way by its own photovoltaic system, and a modern heat pump is used for hot water and heating in the winter months.
