Moncarapacho / Fuseta
Fuseta is a fishing village with traditional square whitewashed houses. Here you will not only find the golden sandy beach of the lagoon with warm water for swimming and snorkeling, you can also cross to the island of Armona, which is just a few minutes by ferry.
At six in the morning, the market along the quay is a popular meeting place. You can buy fresh fish, meat and vegetables there. Just a stone's throw away from the market is the center of village life. Fuseta is located between Faro and the Spanish border and takes less than thirty minutes.
The Ria Formosa is also located here; a system of beautiful lagoons separated from the sea by natural sandy bays and islands. It is considered the most important natural reserve in the Algarve. The lagoons and swamps are rich in birds, but they are also rich in shellfish.
